A change of career for qualified plumber Robert Anderson has led to expertise in a whole new area. After working as a plumber since 1980, last year Robert and his wife Leanne launched Tanks 4 You on the Central Coast.

With a background in all aspects of plumbing from commercial, residential, maintenance and industrial, Robert felt confident in offering a comprehensive and knowledgeable rainwater tanks service.

Robert had installed water tanks previously and realised that his experience as a plumber put him in a good position to give quality advice on water needs and installation.

“Providing water tanks to clients requires a good working knowledge of plumbing from down pipes to installation, and advice and knowledge of pumps and other water products,” says Robert.

It has been a whole new experience and installation has at times involved rolling water tanks over fences and craning in the bigger tanks.

The Andersons also have a water tank and rain products showroom in Tuggerah. Because they house so many water tanks onsite, they can deliver a very fast turnaround service from initial quote to delivery and installation.

The Andersons are long-time Central Coasters living in Tumbi Umbi with their three children and a surplus of water tanks in their backyard.

“We certainly know everything there is to know about water tanks now,” says Robert.

“We believe it is important for everyone who has the space for a rainwater tank to have one installed as our water is becoming such a precious commodity.”
